Registered Nurse – Nursing Resource Team (Full‑Time Temporary)

About the role

The Nursing Resource Team at St. Joseph's Healthcare provides flexible, high‑quality nursing coverage across multiple clinical units. This temporary, full‑time position will be assigned to various patient‑care areas on a rotating 12‑hour schedule, including days, evenings, and nights, to meet staffing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient‑centred, evidence‑informed nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex, high‑acuity, or unpredictable conditions.
• Collaborate with an inter‑professional team, providing leadership and clear communication.
• Adapt to rotating shifts and work at the Charlton Campus (Hamilton Downtown) or other designated sites as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current BCLS/HCP certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity in caring for seniors and their families.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to prioritize, organize work, and respond to dynamic unit needs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement.

Required skills

• BCLS/HCP certification.
• Gentle Persuasive Approach training (preferred).
• Membership in RNAO, CNA, or other professional nursing associations (preferred).
