RAMS Engineer – Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety

About the role

Alstom is seeking a RAMS Engineer to support the reliability, availability, maintainability and safety of its rail systems and products. You will work closely with engineering, validation and project‑management teams to perform RAMS analyses, address feedback, and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform RAMS analyses in line with Alstom processes, instructions and customer specifications.
• Deliver RAMS deliverables that meet quality, cost and delivery (QCD) commitments.
• Process and respond to feedback from customers and independent parties to obtain approval of RAMS documentation.
• Contribute to the assessment of product RAMS performance and define requirements to meet target levels.
• Report progress and promptly alert the Train/Subsystem RAMS Engineer and relevant stakeholders of any issues.
• Adopt a product‑oriented mindset to improve consistency and relevance of RAMS studies.

Required profile

• Degree in Rolling Stock Engineering, Validation, Electrical/Electro‑mechanical Engineering or related field (training in RAMS will be provided).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.

Required skills

• Experience or understanding of RAMS analysis, demonstration methods and tools.
• Knowledge of safety performance assessments and requirements development.
• Familiarity with engineering and validation processes in the rail industry.
• Proficiency in reading and writing technical documentation in French and English.
