Engine Calibration Engineer – Powertrain Development

About the role

BRP is seeking an Engine Calibration Engineer to join its Engine Calibration Team. You will work on innovative recreational vehicle projects, applying theoretical knowledge to practical engine system challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 4‑stroke engine calibration projects, handling both technical work and project coordination.
• Develop engine injection system settings to optimise emissions, fuel economy, performance and driving quality while respecting cost and integration constraints.
• Collaborate on powertrain control software development.
• Plan and execute optimisation testing on roller dynamometers, engine dynamometers and test tracks.
• Diagnose system failure modes and vehicle responses to ensure compliance with project objectives.
• Define calibration methodologies that reduce development time and improve engine robustness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or engineering degree in mechanical engineering, physics, thermodynamics, mechatronics, automation or robotics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal‑combustion engine development within an industrial environment.
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) for daily communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of engine control strategies (emissions, performance, reliability, drivability) and/or transmission systems.
• Proactive attitude, staying up‑to‑date with emerging engine and vehicle technologies.
