Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join its Field Service team. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining surface mining equipment across Saskatchewan and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, diagnose faults, and perform repairs or part replacements according to work scope.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation and commission new machinery at customer sites.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and stay current with industry developments.

Required profile

• Relevant trade certification (Red Seal considered an asset).
• At least three years of experience with mining equipment maintenance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Canada.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Required skills

• Proficiency in reading hydraulic schematics.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on mining equipment.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office.
