Quality Engineer – Test Automation (Toronto)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a financial services technology team in downtown Toronto. In this role you will drive quality across the application lifecycle through test automation, API testing, and continuous improvement within an Agile delivery environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated UI test scripts using Selenium
• Build and maintain API automation tests using Rest Assured and Postman
• Perform continuous testing including security, API, and regression testing
• Support data and environment configuration for testing activities
• Participate in code reviews and monitor and report defects
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of testing processes
• Contribute to system integration testing and defect management
• Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance

Required profile

• 4+ years of UI frontend automation using Selenium
• 4+ years of API automation using Rest Assured or Postman
• 3+ years of experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Maven
• 2+ years of experience with SQL
• 2+ years of mainframe testing knowledge
• Hands‑on experience with behavior‑driven development
• Experience in trading or wealth management domain
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
