Pharmacy Technician – Part‑Time (St. John’s Rehab)

About the role

This part‑time position supports the St. John’s Rehab Pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate medication services to patients and staff. You will work under the supervision of the Pharmacist Manager and collaborate closely with the Pharmacy Technician Team Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense and distribute medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Issue ward stock to patient care units and assist with drug distribution and pre‑packaging as needed.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and maintain detailed drug records.
• Perform non‑sterile compounding of solutions, ointments, and other pharmaceuticals.
• Receive drugs and supplies, manage inventory, and support purchasing activities.
• Provide patient education on medication‑related tools and equipment.
• Attend safety meetings, report hazards, and follow hospital safety standards.

Required profile

• Current licensure by the Ontario College of Pharmacists or a recent graduate of a CCAPP‑accredited pharmacy program, with eligibility to become licensed within 18 months.
• Three years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication abilities.
• Commitment to person‑centered care and supporting learners.

Required skills

• Experience with Meditech or Oracle Cerner pharmacy systems.
• Non‑sterile compounding techniques.
