Part‑Time Legal Counsel – Corporate & Notary Services

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Legal Counsel to join our corporate services team. The role combines corporate law drafting, client advisory, and notary public duties, supporting small business owners across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and draft corporate documents such as articles of incorporation, bylaws, minute books, director resolutions, and shareholder agreements.
• Develop legal contract templates, collaborate with the web development team to enable online customization for customers.
• Provide legal advice on incorporation, share structures, employment contracts, and general corporate matters.
• Perform notary public services, including child travel consent forms, statutory declarations, affidavits, wills, and immigration invitation letters.
• Contribute ideas for new legal products and services to the Business Development team.
• Assist internal sister companies on legal issues and act as a principal for articling students under the Alberta Law Society.

Required profile

• Member of the Law Society of Alberta (or able to obtain membership immediately).
• Minimum four years of experience as a practicing lawyer.
• Willingness to act as a principal for articling students.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable in a diverse, immigrant‑focused team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with information technology tools or willingness to learn.
