Part‑Time Legal Counsel for Corporate Services

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Legal Counsel to support our corporate incorporation services. The role involves drafting legal documents, advising clients on corporate matters, and collaborating with our web development team to create online contract solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and draft corporate articles, bylaws, minute books, director resolutions, and shareholder agreements.
• Draft contract templates, define variable fields, and work with developers to implement customizable online contracts.
• Provide legal advice to corporate clients on incorporation, share structure, employment contracts, and general corporate law issues.
• Offer notary public services and prepare documents such as travel consent forms, statutory declarations, affidavits, wills, and immigration invitation letters.
• Contribute ideas for new legal products and services to the Business Development team.
• Assist sister companies on legal matters and act as a principal for articling students under the Alberta Law Society.

Required profile

• Member of the Law Society of Alberta, or able to obtain membership immediately upon hire.
• Minimum four years of experience as a practicing lawyer.
• Ability to supervise articling students as a principal.
• Independent worker comfortable with minimal supervision and a diverse, immigrant‑focused team.
• Friendly, easy‑going attitude and willingness to help the company grow.

Required skills

• Proficiency with information technology tools or willingness to learn new tech platforms.
