Midwife – Community Health Services (Hybrid)

About the role

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a qualified Midwife to join its Women’s Health Clinic. This hybrid position provides primary care to women throughout the child‑bearing year within a multidisciplinary team, following the Midwifery Model of Practice and College standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary care provider for pregnant women and newborns.
• Maintain communication and collaborative relationships with community, hospital, public health, and emergency services.
• Participate in a practice group to ensure equitable on‑call coverage, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and standby as required.
• Engage in professional development activities to enhance competency and midwifery services.

Required profile

• Recent midwifery practice meeting the College of Midwives of Manitoba’s currency standards.
• Graduated from an approved midwifery program.
• Current CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification with intubation.
• Eligible for registration with the College of Midwives of Manitoba (practicing, supervised candidate, or exam candidate).
• Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a dependable vehicle.
• Physical ability to lift and transport clinical equipment and navigate stairs.
• Eligibility for liability insurance coverage purchased by WRHA.

Required skills

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) with intubation.
