Maintenance Worker – Senior Living Facility

About the role

We are seeking a caring Maintenance Worker to join our senior living community. Reporting to the Site Leader and Maintenance Manager, you will ensure the building and grounds remain safe, functional, and welcoming for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine, scheduled, and emergency maintenance tasks.
• Execute work orders and preventative maintenance using the Maintenance Care computer program.
• Maintain the building envelope, grounds, and ensure all safety checks are logged.
• Paint vacant suites and touch‑up common areas.
• Support the fire safety program and ensure compliance with building and fire codes.
• Clear sidewalks, patios, and exit areas of ice and snow during winter.
• Prioritize repair items and respond to urgent issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow safety protocols.
• Physical capability to perform manual labour and operate maintenance equipment.
• Successful Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
• WHMIS training and Occupational Health & Safety certifications are assets.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Maintenance Care computer program.

• Microsoft Office (MS Office) competency.
• WHMIS certification.
• Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) certifications.

What we offer

• Hourly wage between $23 and $28, based on experience and qualifications.
• Full‑time, permanent position (1.0 FTE).
