Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

The Interactive Abode (TIA) is seeking a Junior Full‑Stack Software Engineer to join its Online Design Studio team. This position is funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Program and focuses on building modern web applications with AI integrations for a design‑and‑construction software platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full‑stack web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Build scalable front‑end and back‑end features and integrate AI tools, APIs, and automation workflows.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and cross‑functional teams to improve user experience and functionality.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and participate in architecture planning.
• Troubleshoot bugs and enhance existing systems.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional full‑stack development experience.
• Based in Canada and legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, Vue).
• Backend development with Node.js or similar.
• Experience with databases and RESTful APIs.
• Integration of AI technologies, large language models, or machine‑learning APIs.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows.
