IT Infrastructure Technician

About the role

PosiTrace is a fleet management technology company that processes real‑time GPS telemetry and video data across North America. As an IT Infrastructure Technician you will work under the Senior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to maintain and improve the cloud infrastructure that powers the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor GCP resources including GKE clusters, Cloud SQL, GCS buckets and Compute Engine VMs.
• Maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes deployments in staging and production.
• Monitor system health with Zabbix, GrayLog, Google Cloud Monitoring and internal tools.
• Handle VPN access, SSL certificates, DNS records and firewall rules.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for infrastructure incidents after ramp‑up.
• Assist with BitBucket Pipelines for CI/CD, execute deployments, support rollbacks and hotfixes.
• Containerize services with Docker/Helm and deploy to GKE.
• Monitor and maintain backend services for IoT GPS trackers and cameras, troubleshoot device connectivity.
• Support message‑queue health, Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB and MySQL operations.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian).
• Familiarity with Docker containers and fundamental Kubernetes concepts.
• Exposure to at least one cloud platform (GCP preferred).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPN and SSL/TLS.
• Basic Bash scripting skills; Python or Go a plus.
• Experience with Git version control and CI/CD concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn IoT device management.
