Grants Specialist (Remote, Canada)

About the role

We are seeking a Grants Specialist to manage and execute grant strategies for a large portfolio of Canadian‑based clients. The role focuses on client management, opportunity oversight, and delivering funding outcomes rather than pure grant writing. You will work remotely with founders and technical leaders to translate business priorities into successful grant applications.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of 50+ active clients, coordinating all grant‑related work and keeping founders informed of opportunities and timelines.
• Monitor federal and provincial funding programs, assess eligibility and likelihood of success, and advise clients on which opportunities to pursue.
• Coordinate internal and external grant writers and subject‑matter experts, providing briefs, reviewing drafts and ensuring high‑quality submissions.
• Contribute to full grant applications and edit drafts for clarity, compliance and impact, using AI tools under human oversight.
• Track deadlines, submission status and outcomes, maintain accurate documentation and support post‑submission follow‑ups.

Required profile

• Two or more years of experience in grants, funding advisory or related roles.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of client accounts or projects simultaneously.
• Strong editing and quality‑control skills with solid understanding of Canadian government funding programs.
• Excellent organization, time‑management and professional communication abilities.
• Experience working with startups or scale‑ups is a strong plus.
