Finance Intern – 3-Month Fixed-Term Internship

About the role

This 3‑month fixed‑term internship (June 1 – August 28) is with Wabtec Canada’s Freight Services team. As a Finance Intern you will work alongside experienced finance and operations professionals, gaining hands‑on exposure to financial analysis, budgeting and performance reporting within a fast‑paced transportation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse financial data for account teams and headquarters leadership.
• Review shop‑expense contracts and support legal‑entity balance‑sheet separation for Transportation Canada.
• Collaborate with Global Freight Services Finance and FP&A teams to analyse cost drivers in service P&Ls.
• Monitor key financial and operating metrics and contribute to yearly and three‑year revenue, EBIT and margin plans.
• Assist in budgeting, revenue forecasting and inventory planning for the upcoming fiscal year.
• Identify revenue levers for the 2027 annual planning cycle.

Required profile

• Less than two years of work experience outside of co‑op or internship roles.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.
• High confidence and ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment.
• Self‑starter attitude with initiative and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
