Field Material Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Material Coordinator to join a major client on a long‑term contract supporting a large EPC construction project in the Edmonton area. The role operates in an Owner Representative capacity, providing on‑site oversight of material procurement, logistics, inventory control, and construction material readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt, storage, control, and issuance of construction materials and equipment at the site.
• Interface with EPC contractors and suppliers as the owner‑side representative to ensure material management compliance and readiness.
• Track material deliveries, inventory levels, and consumption to support construction schedules.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality, quantity, and specification compliance.
• Identify and resolve material issues such as shortages, damages, and shipment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate site material records, reports, and inventory updates.
• Utilize and support Excel, Power BI, Smart Materials, SAP (MM), and RFID‑based tracking systems.
• Coordinate material handling, lay‑down areas, and storage activities to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Communicate material status, risks, and constraints to construction, engineering, and procurement teams.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience supporting large EPC construction projects in industrial, energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in an Owner Representative or owner‑side oversight role.
• Strong knowledge of construction material commodities (piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment, electrical, instrumentation, bulk materials).
• Degree or diploma in Project Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently on site with minimal supervision and a valid driver’s license.
