Journeyman Carpenter

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Carpenter to join our construction teams. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality carpentry work on a variety of building and maintenance projects, working closely with site superintendents and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, specifications, building codes and superintendent directions.
• Lay foundations, plan task sequences and perform all carpentry‑related activities.
• Estimate and select required materials, prepare framing for concrete, mix and pour cement, and build or remove structural formwork.
• Carry out internal and external structural repairs, construct stairs, frameworks and other components using proper tools and fastening systems.
• Set up scaffolding, work safely at heights and operate/maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
• Maintain daily task logs, support preventative maintenance schedules and follow quality‑control procedures.
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and regulations.

Required profile

• Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate (Red Seal preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Active work experience in the trade with strong knowledge of construction practices and safety protocols.
• WHMIS 2015 certification (required) and First Aid/CPR (preferred).
• Clear communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s licence and clean abstract (nice to have).
