About the role

The family doctor will join a private practice clinic in an urban setting, providing comprehensive primary care to individuals and families. This role involves delivering medical assessments, preventive care, and managing acute and chronic conditions within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect medical histories from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Examine patients to diagnose diseases, injuries, and health concerns.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, X‑rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient.
• Report births, deaths, and notifiable diseases to appropriate authorities.
• Coordinate primary patient care and provide acute care management.
• Offer counseling and support on health, lifestyle, and wellness topics.
• Collaborate with other medical practitioners to evaluate physical and mental health.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, DDS, DVM, or OD) with a focus on family medicine.
• Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
• College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) preferred.
• Experience in primary care is an asset.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centered care in an urban community.
