About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, providing diverse clinical exposure and procedural opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical emergencies in a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development initiatives such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.
• Contribute to the ongoing redevelopment of the emergency department and future hospital expansions.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP(EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in teaching, mentorship, and rural health practice.
