Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join a collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. The 24/7 emergency department sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, offering a diverse case mix and numerous procedural opportunities. You will also collaborate with specialists across internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry, and participate in teaching medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients of all ages.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform a variety of emergency procedures as needed.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents.
• Engage in leadership development opportunities through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Emergency department experience is an asset, but mentorship is available for new graduates and international medical graduates.
