Director of Manufacturing Excellence

About the role

New School Foods is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Excellence to champion continuous improvement across its plant‑based food production. Based in Toronto, you will work cross‑functionally to raise manufacturing standards, ensure consistent high‑quality output, and lay the groundwork for scaling operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive relentless improvement of manufacturing processes and workflows.
• Maintain consistent, high‑quality production output each week.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of production leads and supervisors.
• Partner with QA to uphold food‑safety standards.
• Base all decisions and new projects on solid data analysis.
• Support Sales, R&D, Engineering, and QA on initiatives that align with company objectives.
• Prioritize team safety in all manufacturing activities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in fast‑paced manufacturing, preferably in food or CPG.
• 5+ years leading teams in complex manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record of elevating manufacturing performance.
• Strong obsession with continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Degree in Science, Engineering, Business or related field is an asset.
• Physically able to lift 10 kg (20 lb).
