Mechanical Designer

About the role

Kepler Communications is looking for a Mechanical Designer to lead the development and verification of spacecraft mechanical subsystems. You will own the full lifecycle of mechanical hardware, from concept through flight qualification, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver flight‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of spacecraft mechanical subsystems from concept to qualification.
• Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure performance, mass, and reliability targets.
• Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and provide manufacturing support.
• Integrate mechanical subsystems with RF, electrical, software, and mission operations interfaces.
• Balance performance, mass, manufacturability, schedule, and cost to achieve mission success.
• Lead technical discussions and solve complex multidisciplinary problems.

Required profile

• Experience delivering spacecraft mechanical hardware through all development phases.
• Comfortable performing analysis, building hardware, and leading technical reviews.
• Strong collaborative mindset with systems, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Ability to balance performance, reliability, schedule, and cost constraints.
