Deskside Technician – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

Our Toronto office is seeking a Deskside Technician on a six‑month contract to deliver on‑site application and hardware support for the firm’s employees. The role involves responding to support requests promptly, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth operation of the firm’s IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for all applications, proprietary programs, and computer equipment via telephone, email and in person.
• Log and document all support requests in the firm’s ticketing system.
• Assess, prioritize and resolve issues based on urgency and complexity, escalating when necessary.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems, arranging external service calls or repairs as required.
• Manage loaner equipment, including assignment, logging, cleaning, and software installation.
• Participate with the IT team in workstation support, system implementations and rollouts.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of technical experience in a Help Desk or Service Desk environment.
• College degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate professionally with firm members and clients.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, delivering high‑quality work under tight timelines.
