Culture Manager

About the role

The Culture Manager provides strategic leadership for the Culture Department of West Moberly First Nations, guiding cultural initiatives, language preservation and heritage projects in partnership with Family Representatives, Council and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Culture Department, overseeing recruitment, training, performance management and mentorship of team members.
• Support Family Representatives while respecting distinct family cultures and initiatives.
• Implement and advance the long‑term cultural plan, contributing to Council materials, community events and workshops.
• Work within governance structures, manage budget allocation and ensure accountability for departmental outcomes.
• Collaborate with other WMFN departments and external funding partners to sustain cultural programs.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in cultural leadership or heritage management.
• Ability to mentor staff and work collaboratively with Indigenous families and community stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of governance processes and budget oversight.

• Full‑time, 35‑hour week with a salary range of $85,000‑$100,000 CAD per year.
