About the role
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at McGill University is hiring a Course Lecturer for the 2026‑2027 academic year to teach BMDE 656, Medical Device Development Process. The role involves delivering in‑person lectures (with possible remote delivery) and guiding students through the complete lifecycle of medical device development.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver course lectures, assignments, tests and grading rubrics.
- Facilitate classroom discussions, assess student performance and hold regular office hours.
- Participate in curricular discussions and contribute to course material development.
- Guide students in producing regulatory documentation for device submissions.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science, Engineering, or Arts.
- More than 5 years of experience in medical device reimbursement.
- Fluency in English; French proficiency preferred.
Required skills
- Knowledge of ISO 13485:2016 standards.
- Familiarity with 21 CFR 820 Quality System Regulation.
- Understanding of the Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP).
