About the role

The Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to lead the laboratory components of two undergraduate courses (MIME 200 and MIME 250) in the Fall 2026 term. The position runs from August 31 to December 4, 2026 and requires in‑person instruction.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver the laboratory sections for MIME 200 (Introduction to the Minerals Industry) and MIME 250 (Introduction to Extractive Metallurgy).
  • Set up, maintain, and supervise laboratory equipment and experiments related to mineral processing and metallurgy.
  • Guide students through hands‑on activities, ensure safety compliance, and assess laboratory performance.
  • Collaborate with Teaching and Learning Services for instructional support.

Required profile

  • Graduate‑level training in mining or materials engineering; PhD preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience teaching mineral processing and metallurgy in a laboratory setting.
  • Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) preferred.
