Controller – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Controller to join our growing drilling services organization in Calgary. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will combine day‑to‑day accounting oversight with strategic financial leadership to support rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting and financial reporting functions, including month‑end close, consolidations and reconciliations.
• Prepare and present financial statements, KPI reports and variance analysis to senior leadership and the Board.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and operational analysis across the business.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights that drive decision‑making.
• Design, improve and maintain accounting processes, systems, controls and reporting capabilities.
• Coordinate annual audits, tax filings and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with risk management, financial stewardship and the development of scalable finance infrastructure.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including prior Controller or senior finance roles.
• Experience in drilling, transportation, industrial services, energy, construction, manufacturing or related sectors is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting and multi‑entity consolidations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate and partner with business units in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
