About the role
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Consultant to support its Biodiversity and Health work stream. The role is remote‑based and will last for seven months, providing technical and organisational assistance to advance the implementation of the Kunming‑Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the Global Action Plan on Biodiversity and Health.
Key responsibilities
- Compile, organise and analyse information from Parties, partners and peer‑review processes to inform biodiversity‑health initiatives.
- Conduct literature research on One Health, planetary health and the biodiversity‑health nexus.
- Coordinate webinars, side events and meetings, including stakeholder liaison, speaker identification and event logistics.
- Develop documentation, training materials and briefing notes for the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
- Support the Programme Officer for Invasive Alien Species and Biodiversity and Health in day‑to‑day tasks.
Required profile
- Demonstrated knowledge of One Health, planetary health and the biodiversity‑health nexus.
- Familiarity with key stakeholders and processes related to biodiversity and health at the international level.
- Strong research, analytical and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet tight deadlines.
