Construction Site Manager / Superintendent

About the role

Govan Brown is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager/Superintendent to lead on‑site activities for interior fit‑out and new‑build projects in Winnipeg. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed action plans and schedules, mobilising labour, equipment and material resources to meet project timelines and budgets.
• Maximise site productivity by coordinating the performance, quality and efficiency of labourers and subcontractors.
• Interpret plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with working drawings and project scope.
• Manage subcontractor activities to align with construction schedules and financial targets.
• Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders including the Project Manager, landlord, client, consultants, architects, engineers and designers.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with legislation and safe work practices.
• Coordinate with municipal authorities and environmental agencies as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing on‑site construction activities for commercial interior and core‑and‑shell projects.
• Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgeting and subcontractor management.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder liaison.
• Commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety protocols on site.
