Cloud & Platform Engineer

About the role

Manulife Investment Management’s Quantitative Development team is seeking a Cloud & Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate its Azure‑based cloud ecosystem. The role focuses on improving developer experience, platform reliability, and delivery speed for data, application, and analytics workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, build, operate, and continuously improve Azure platform services and cloud environments.
• Support containerized workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure VMs.
• Engineer and maintain Azure services such as Blob Storage, File Share, Event Grid, Event Hubs, Key Vault, and API Management.
• Contribute to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline creation, deployment automation, environment management, and monitoring.
• Partner with application, data, and analytics teams to onboard workloads onto shared platform capabilities.
• Troubleshoot incidents, scaling issues, and integration failures in development and production environments.
• Enhance observability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency across the platform.
• Document technical designs, runbooks, and operating procedures.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and provide production support.
