IT Specialist – Full Time

About the role

Peace Wapiti Public School Division is seeking a permanent full-time IT Specialist to provide technology support across its 34 schools. The successful candidate will troubleshoot hardware and software, configure networking equipment, and deliver on-site help-desk assistance while travelling throughout the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

Key responsibilities

• Research and evaluate technology issues and new products.
• Perform hardware and software troubleshooting for school staff and students.
• Assemble, rack, and configure networking hardware.
• Install and support interactive displays and related peripherals.
• Provide help-desk and on-site support to all schools, including regular travel.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed.
• Foster positive working relationships with coworkers and school personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of post-secondary education in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to obtain industry certifications such as Google IT Support, CCNA, or Microsoft Azure.
• Valid Alberta driver’s licence and ability to travel to multiple school sites.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
