System Administrator – Server Infrastructure (Full-Time)

About the role

We are seeking a System Administrator to lead the administration, optimization, and protection of our Microsoft Windows Server environments across multiple healthcare and pharmacy locations in Atlantic Canada. The role is based on‑site in Charlottetown and focuses on ensuring high availability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, patch, monitor and maintain Windows Server 2016‑2025 environments.
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions (Veeam, Azure, Wasabi).
• Lead infrastructure projects from design through implementation and transition.
• Support Fortinet firewalls, switches and wireless access points and maintain technical documentation.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, standards and change‑management procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive experience in server administration or IT infrastructure.
• Ability to work under pressure, lift 25‑50 lb equipment and travel to multiple sites.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to be on‑call for after‑hours support.

• Microsoft Windows Server (2016‑2025) administration.
• Virtualization platforms: Hyper‑V and VMware.
• Backup and DR tools: Veeam, Azure, Wasabi.
• Microsoft Azure services (Defender for Cloud, Arc, virtual networks, storage, compute, virtual desktops).
• Fortinet firewall, switch and wireless configuration.
• IT operations, cybersecurity principles and documentation standards.
