Chief Engineer

About the role

The Chief Engineer leads the daily repair and preventative maintenance of industrial textile processing equipment and overall facility upkeep. Reporting to the General Manager, this senior position ensures that all plant systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition and execute a robust preventative maintenance program.
• Supervise plant engineering staff, coordinate with production, sales, and service teams to optimize plant operations.
• Manage spare‑parts inventories cost‑effectively and oversee daily maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
• Install, repair, and maintain industrial processing equipment, water systems, boilers, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues, read schematics, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and perform adjustments.
• Develop, train, and administer a qualified engineering team, ensuring compliance with safety rules and industry best practices.
• Advise the General Manager on parts, supplies, and equipment needs; place orders while controlling expenses.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum five years of maintenance engineering experience covering machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
• Proven ability to lead and develop engineering staff.
