Aviation Life Support Equipment Engineer

About the role

ITPS is seeking experienced Aviation Life Support Equipment Engineers to support its ALSE (Aviation Life Support Equipment) departments in London and North Bay, Ontario. The role involves maintaining, inspecting, and training on critical survival equipment used in flight testing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate on the safety council, conduct inventory, and ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations.
• Perform periodic inspections, fitting, adjustment, and instruction for parachutes, ejection seats, helmets, oxygen masks and other life‑saving gear.
• Maintain accurate records, issue and return equipment, and manage the ALSE inventory.
• Repair and service ALSE equipment, including seat removal/installation and dinghy drill training.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for all ALSE topics and drive cost‑effective improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Two‑ to three‑year college program in avionics, electronics or equivalent military training.
• 5+ years of egress or life‑support equipment experience, including parachute rigger certification.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance.

Required skills

• Martin Baker Type Ejection Seat Maintenance.
• VS1‑BRI‑8 U2 Type Seats Level 2 Maintenance.
• Parachute Rigger certification.
• Use of special test equipment for ALSE inspections.
• Fitment and removal of ejection seats and related safety equipment.
• Accurate record‑keeping and log‑card maintenance.
