ALS Research Assistant – Target Study

About the role

The Target‑ALS Assistant will provide technical and research support for the global natural‑history longitudinal study conducted at the UBC Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis & Related Disorders Clinic. The position is based in the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health on the UBC Vancouver campus.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine protocol‑related activities, including review of study materials and preparation of research documentation.
• Support scheduled study visits and assessments, ensuring adherence to approved study protocols.
• Collect, record, enter, verify, and maintain study data in accordance with laboratory manuals and sponsor requirements.
• Liaise with study participants, site staff, institutional personnel, and sponsor representatives as needed.
• Attend study progress meetings, research seminars, and professional‑development training sessions.

Required profile

• Interest or experience in clinical or translational research, preferably in neurology.
• Ability to work in a shared laboratory and clinical environment while following strict protocols.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with participants and multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with research documentation and data‑entry procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency for data management and record‑keeping.
• Understanding of clinical research workflows and participant handling.
