Accounts Receivable Clerk

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support an automotive dealership in Burnaby, British Columbia. The role is fully on‑site and focuses on daily receivables, cash processing, and general accounting tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process incoming payments, apply cash accurately, and maintain up‑to‑date customer accounts.
• Reconcile accounts receivable balances, investigate discrepancies, and ensure record completeness.
• Prepare and issue billing documentation while adhering to internal controls.
• Conduct collection activities on outstanding balances with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support month‑end close by completing receivables and accounting tasks within tight deadlines.
• Maintain financial data for multiple dealership and shop operations, ensuring transaction accuracy.
• Utilise accounting systems and spreadsheets to track activity, analyse accounts, and prepare reports.
• Provide general accounting support, including data review and coordination with the finance team.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, billing, cash application, or a related accounting function.
• Strong understanding of account reconciliation, collections, and core accounting principles.
• Ability to work on‑site in Burnaby and manage priorities in a deadline‑driven setting.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing and record‑keeping.
• Clear communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external customers.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel for data review, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major accounting system such as Oracle, SAP, or QuickBooks.
