Accountant – Financial Services (Temporary)

About the role

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a temporary Accountant to join its Financial Services Department at the Civic Campus. This full‑time, on‑site position supports month‑end closing, audit preparation, and financial reporting for one of Canada’s largest teaching hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare adjusting entries and accruals in line with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Coordinate and record transaction data from multiple sources.
• Perform account reconciliations and analyze balance‑sheet accounts.
• Develop working papers for quarterly and year‑end audit files.
• Generate required financial reports and support other ad‑hoc reporting needs.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting **or** a 3‑year Business Administration – Finance diploma.
• Minimum two years of experience in general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle financial systems.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel and Word.
