Academic Movement Disorders Neurologist (Tenure-Track)

About the role

The University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry seeks an academic Movement Disorders Neurologist for a contingent tenured or tenure‑track appointment. The position is based on the North Campus in Edmonton and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient, inpatient and on‑call clinical care for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
• Participate in the provincial Parkinson’s & Movement Disorders program serving Albertans across multiple corridors and the Northwest Territories.
• Diagnose and manage acute neurologic conditions presenting at the University of Alberta Hospital.
• Contribute to the Division’s educational programs spanning medical students to fellowship trainees.
• Engage in research activities within a division that holds multiple CIHR, NIH and other external grants.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Neurology.
• Demonstrated expertise in movement disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease.
• Experience in academic medicine and a record of scholarly activity.
• Eligibility for a tenured or tenure‑track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.
