Yard Laborer (Temporary 6‑10 months)

About the role

Flynn Canada Ltd is seeking an experienced Yard Laborer for a temporary 6‑10 month assignment at our Edmonton location. The role involves supporting daily yard operations, material handling, and safety compliance in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment.
• Perform yard and equipment maintenance tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures and complete daily safety paperwork (FLRA, inspection book).
• Load and unload trucks and vans with materials and equipment.
• Collaborate closely with the shipping and receiving teams.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Ability to lift 50 lb consistently and handle up to 100 lb with assistance.
• 2‑5 years of relevant experience in yard or construction settings.
• Comfort working in physically demanding conditions, including tight deadlines, bending, crouching, kneeling, and all weather seasons.

Required skills

• Forklift operation.
• Zoom Boom, Bobcat, and overhead crane operation.
• Rigging and safe load‑securement practices.
• Aerial Work Platform and fall‑protection certification (considered an asset).
