About the role

McGill University is hiring teaching assistants for the Winter 2027 term to support a range of undergraduate courses in Mathematics and Statistics. Successful candidates will lead tutorial groups, assist students, and contribute to course administration.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver tutorial sessions, presenting examples and facilitating student questions.
  • Hold at least two regular office hours per week for individual or group support.
  • Mark assignments, quizzes, and exams for the assigned tutorial group.
  • Invigilate midterm and final examinations under faculty supervision.
  • Maintain and update the online learning platform, responding to student posts.
  • Provide help‑desk support for statistical computing and mathematical queries.
  • Assist faculty with preparation of solution sheets and occasional surprise tests.

Required profile

  • Must be a graduate student enrolled at McGill University.
  • Hold an Honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Applied Mathematics with high academic standing.
