Wellness and Care Planning Nurse (RPN) - Seniors Living Retirement

About the role

S&R Seniors Living is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to support the Director of Wellness in a retirement home setting. The role covers resident wellness goals, health records and compliance, medication administration, charge staff duties and coordination with Ontario Health at Home, physicians and community services. It is a 3-day-per-week schedule and a temporary position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Wellness in creating and maintaining resident wellness goals
• Maintain updated health information for residents
• Carry out medication administration audits
• Support the wellness team during the Director's absence
• Coordinate with Ontario Health at Home, community services and physicians, and facilitate in-house physician visits
• Help maintain compliance and support team members with care planning execution
• Champion health and safety practices within the home
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required profile

• RPN or higher designation, with current registration with the College of Nurses
• First Aid and CPR certifications
• 3-5 years of related nursing experience
• Experience supervising staff required
• 3-5 years of experience in a retirement home setting is an asset
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Team-oriented approach and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to resident-centred care and hospitality service

Required skills

• Working knowledge of RHRA is an asset
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, EMAR, MedEcare and related software
• WHMIS and CPR certification
