Welder Helper

About the role

Rampart Steel Ltd is seeking a reliable Welder Helper to support its structural steel fabrication operations in Edmonton. You will work in a dusty, noisy environment, assisting skilled tradespeople with a variety of metal preparation and cleaning tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other residues.
• Immerse metal components in cleaning solutions as required.
• Assist structural steel fitters, sheet‑metal workers and machine operators.
• Sort metal sheets, scrap metal and other materials.
• Grind or chip excess metal using hand tools.
• Clean machines and immediate work areas.
• Polish metal products to a mirror finish.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift loads over 45 kg.
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, days, weekends.
• Team‑player attitude and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Operation of metal cleaning equipment.
• Hand‑tool grinding and chipping.
• Machine and area cleaning.
