Welder – Fabrication & Repair

About the role

Fire Line Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced welder to join its fabrication team in Dauphin, MB. The role involves producing, repairing, and inspecting metal components across a range of industries, from custom fabrication to truck and machinery repair.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications, blueprints, and drawings to determine the correct welding technique.
• Operate manual, semi‑automatic and fully automated welding, flame‑cutting, and oxygen‑arc cutting equipment.
• Examine completed welds to ensure they meet required standards and specifications.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering machines.
• Fit, braze, torch‑straighten, and shape metal parts using brakes, shears, and bending machines.

Required profile

• Physically demanding work with ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Strong attention to detail, hand‑eye coordination and ability to work independently.
• Organized, punctual, hardworking team player.

Required skills

• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).
• Operation of manual and semi‑automatic welding equipment, flame‑cutting, and oxygen‑arc cutting machines.
• Reading and interpreting welding blueprints, specifications, and manuals.
• Experience with aluminum alloys, stainless steel, steel, iron and heavy metals.
