Weighscale Operator – Part‑time (13‑month contract)

About the role

The Weighscale Operator supports daily operations at community recycling centres across the Peel Region. Working on‑site, you will manage weigh‑in procedures, handle cash transactions and ensure accurate reporting while providing courteous service to the public.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh vehicle contents and direct customers to the appropriate disposal area.
• Start up and shut down the weighscale and associated data‑processing equipment.
• Handle cash transactions, balance tills and produce end‑of‑day financial reports.
• Respond to customer inquiries in‑person and via telephone.
• Maintain compliance with regional policies, regulations and safety standards.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Team Lead.

Required profile

• Secondary school diploma (or equivalent) with at least one year of related experience.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and point‑of‑sale experience.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for daily access.
• Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station.
• Ability to work flexible shifts between 8:00 am and 8:15 pm, including weekends.
