Web Content Specialist – Student Communications

About the role

The University of British Columbia’s Student Communications Services is seeking a Web Content Specialist to manage and enhance the digital experience for Vancouver‑campus students. You will work closely with the VP Students Office, Student Services, and Enrolment Services to ensure web content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with the Student Strategic Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the students.ubc.ca website, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and up‑to‑date information.
• Write, edit, and design compelling web copy that reflects the university’s voice and supports student engagement.
• Develop and implement a student‑focused content operations strategy.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather content, verify accuracy, and incorporate under‑represented voices.
• Monitor website performance and recommend improvements to enhance user experience.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in web content management, digital communications, or related fields.
• Strong writing and editing abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple university departments.
