Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator

About the role

Veolia Canada is seeking a qualified Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator to join its team in Moosonee, Ontario. The role involves operating and maintaining both the drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient performance.

Key responsibilities

• Adjust, inspect, and evaluate processes and equipment for water and wastewater systems to optimize performance and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Operate and monitor valves, gates, pumps, compressors, engines, electric motors, HVAC, and chemical dosing equipment.
• Respond to alarm conditions, make operational decisions, and record all activities in plant logbooks or computerized databases.
• Collect samples, perform routine laboratory tests, analyze results, and prepare regulatory reports.
• Utilize SCADA systems for real‑time process control and documentation.

Required profile

• Valid water treatment and wastewater treatment certifications.
• Willingness to relocate to Moosonee and work in a northern environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate operational status.

Required skills

• SCADA system operation.
• Laboratory testing and sample analysis.
• Process control and equipment operation (valves, pumps, compressors, engines, electric motors, HVAC, chemical dosing).
• Regulatory reporting and documentation.
