Warehouse Lead

About the role

Dot Foods is hiring a Warehouse Lead in Ingersoll, Ontario. The role provides hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor by training, monitoring and evaluating assigned personnel, and leads the receiving, warehousing and shipping of product in line with company service and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently use warehouse material handling equipment
• Train personnel to use warehouse management systems accurately and consistently
• Train personnel in the safe and efficient use of material handling equipment and supplies
• Serve as a coach and mentor
• Communicate work expectations and results achieved
• Lead lean thinking initiatives to remove waste from all aspects of the position

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• No steps of discipline
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, prior experience in a safety-promoting environment, leadership experience, and completion of the Achieve program

Working conditions

• Schedule: Wednesday to Saturday, 6am to 4:30pm
• Indoor work with hot and humid or cold temperature extremes; possible early arrival or staying after shifts
• Extensive standing and walking while operating equipment, and regular lifting of up to 60 lbs
