VP of Information Security - Pre-IPO Tech Leader

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Vice President of Information Security to join a $2.5B pre‑IPO technology company. Reporting directly to the CISO, you will combine executive leadership with hands‑on technical expertise to protect critical data and ensure the resilience of a global infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute security programs across applications, infrastructure, and data in line with business priorities.
• Lead proactive threat detection, response, and hunting against nation‑state actors, ransomware, and APTs.
• Oversee design and implementation of secure architectures for cloud, containerized, and on‑prem environments.
• Serve as executive lead during major incidents, ensuring rapid containment, remediation, and communication.
• Maintain compliance with SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and promote security‑by‑design.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, legal, and operations to embed security throughout development lifecycles.
• Champion adoption of zero‑trust, AI‑driven detection, and advanced cryptography solutions.
• Build, mentor, and scale high‑performing security engineering, operations, and risk teams.

Required profile

• 12+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record leading complex incident responses and security crises.
• Strategic vision to balance risk reduction with business growth.
• Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, OSCP or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related field.
