About the role
This senior executive position reports directly to the President of a fast‑growing North American industrial services organization based in Western Canada. The Vice President of Commercial will shape the company’s commercial strategy, deepen key customer relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the overall commercial strategy and business growth initiatives across the organization.
- Oversee sales leadership, account management, customer retention, and strategic market expansion efforts.
- Maintain and strengthen executive‑level relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Partner with the President and executive team on strategic planning, forecasting, and operational direction.
- Present commercial performance, growth strategy, and market opportunities to executive leadership and Board members.
- Drive revenue growth while supporting margin improvement and long‑term business sustainability.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team of 5 direct reports and up to 40 indirect reports.
- Support contract negotiations, major proposal strategy, and high‑level customer engagements.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, market penetration, and service offering expansion.
- Work cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, finance, and service teams to align commercial objectives with execution.
Required profile
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in strategic sales, commercial leadership, and business management within industrial, technical, manufacturing, or service environments.
- Proven ability to lead commercial organizations and deliver measurable business growth.
- Executive‑level experience with exposure to ownership groups, executive teams, or Boards.
- Strong understanding of strategic sales, customer relationship management, and commercial operations.
- Demonstrated success managing high‑value customer accounts and complex commercial negotiations.
- Experience leading and developing both direct and indirect teams in fast‑paced settings.
- Financial and commercial acumen with experience supporting forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
