Vice President, Advancement

About the role

Ontario Tech University is seeking a visionary Vice President, Advancement to lead its fundraising and donor engagement strategy. Reporting directly to the President and Vice‑Chancellor, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, shaping the future of a top‑ranked, tech‑focused institution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive advancement plan aligned with the university’s "Tech with a Conscience" campaign.
• Lead major fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns, annual giving, and planned giving.
• Build and nurture relationships with donors, alumni, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
• Oversee advancement staff, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management.
• Collaborate with academic, research, and executive leaders to identify funding opportunities that support innovation, research excellence, and student success.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in university advancement, fundraising, or related development roles.
• Demonstrated success in securing large gifts and managing multi‑year campaigns.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education landscape and ability to align fundraising with academic priorities.
• Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills with diverse internal and external audiences.
