Utility Locator (Field Technician) – Burnaby

About the role

GeoScan, a T2ue Company is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Utility Locating Technicians to join its growing team in Burnaby. Technicians will locate underground utilities on‑site using geophysical equipment, interpret results, and produce detailed reports for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Visit various work sites and work in all weather conditions, including office tasks.
• Read and interpret site plans, construction prints, and maps to locate subsurface utilities.
• Locate and mark subsurface utilities using a range of geophysical tools such as GPR and EM equipment.
• Provide digital drawings and detailed reports to clients, communicating important findings.
• Follow all health and safety protocols on site.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract for company vehicle use.
• Minimum three years of utility locating experience.
• Experience interpreting location maps, sketches, and construction prints.
• Strong computer skills; expertise in CAD software and GPS is an asset.
• Hands‑on experience with Electromagnetic (EM) survey equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
